		<description><![CDATA[We welcome Kelly Wheeler to our fellowship.  Kelly joined after attending here seven years with her mom, June Ryan.  Kelly has two children in North Carolina, along with two sisters, one who lives in Florida.  Brother Tom lives here in Babson Park.  Kelly is a Record Specialist in the Registrar’s Office at Warner University.  Her hobbies are many including reading, watching movies and baseball games, fishing, cooking and gardening.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Patrick Munoz has been worshipping here at First Presbyterian since 2008 and in March became a member.  He lives in Lake Wales and currently goes to Polk State College.  This summer Patrick’s plan is to attend FSU in Orlando.  His studies include ministry, film and photography.  He has two older brothers and one younger brother.  His hobbies are soccer and guitar.  In 2008 Patrick was invited by a friend to attend church and that lead to youth group under the leadership of Matt Joldersma.  Matt gave responsibilities to him which eventually led Patrick to look deeper into his faith and get serious about joining as a member.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Kermit and Donna Marie Richert reside in Winter Haven for six months and Loudonville, Ohio for the other six months of the year.  The Richert’s have three children,  two live in the Loudonville area of PA and one in Eastern PA.  Rounding out their family are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Kermit is a retired real estate salesman and auctioneer.  Donna Marie was a teacher/media specialist in the local school system in Ohio.  Kermit enjoys woodworking, carpentry and digging in the dirt.  Since they changed houses in both Florida and Ohio this year, he has been very busy indoors and out.  Donna enjoys knitting, rug weaving and reading to kids.  They also like taking trips.  Gabe Statom invited Donna Marie to become a member of the Lake Wales Chorale.  She accepted the invitation and enjoyed the church so much they decided to join with us also.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[During our class time together (with the kids at Ekklesia) we learned that we are in a battle with the forces of evil.  Spiritual warfare is constantly going on around us, and it takes on many forms, but God gives us armor to defend ourselves, and those around us, from this evil.  From the beginning of the course in January, we took various “journeys”. The first journey was to realize that when God is on our side we don’t need to be afraid.  Our Bible illustration for this lesson came from Mark: 4 when Jesus and the disciples were on a boat in the middle of a sea.  A great storm came upon them with high winds and crashing waves.  Water was coming in the boat and the disciples were afraid for their lives.  They woke Jesus, who was resting in the back of the boat, asking “aren’t you afraid that we will drown?”  Jesus stood up and calmly said, “quiet waves, and hush wind,” and instantly everything became very still.  Jesus knew that God was with him and there was no reason to be afraid.  The disciples knew then, Jesus was a special person. 		<description><![CDATA[The mission of God’s church to share the gospel has definitely begun to infect our congregation. The missions committee has received preliminary applications of interest for short term mission trips to Ephesus, Mexico and Wales from at least 12 different folks and/or families since providing the opportunity to do so two Sundays ago. The committee has decided to extend this initial request for interest and will continue to provide applications in the Parlor as well as on our church website &#8212; firstpreslakewales.org (look in the post &#8220;So&#8230;You Want to be a Missionary). Pray that we as a congregation continue to be touched by the Holy Spirit in such a way as to promote the gospel mission both in our backyard as well as throughout the world.]]></description>
