Many will be wearing pink in the month of October for breast cancer awareness month. Of course breast cancer is not the only type of cancer. Most of us either are ourselves, or we know, someone who is currently battling some form of this disease, or someone who is a survivor of it, or someone who has lost a loved one to it. This week let us pray to the Great Physician that He would bring healing to those in the midst of such a fight for life. Pray that He would manifest His saving power in the here and now by healing their bodies to His glory. Pray that He would give the strength of His grace to them and their families as they endure pain and struggle in the days ahead. Pray that He would give them peace and hope in their Savior, who is the resurrection and the life, and that the Gospel would be seen through them by family, friends, doctors, nurses, and so on. Give thanks to Him for those who have been healed already and live today as survivors by His grace. Also, give thanks to Him as you look with great anticipation and glorious hope to the Day of Christ’s return when the former things will pass away and cancer and death shall be no more.
