Please welcome new member, George Corcoran. He and his wife, Wilma, live at Waters’ Edge and on January 16th they celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. The Corcorans have five sons. One lives in Longwood, Florida, two in Michigan, one in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and one in Charlotte, N.C.
George worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Michigan for twenty eight years. After his retirement he and Wilma were among the first Sower’s (Servants On Wheels Ever Ready) to come to the Care Center and they assisted in remodeling the first transitional house on Sessom’s Ave. From 1989 to 2000 they enjoyed a wonderful working experience with fine Christian people from all over the U.S.
Among George’s hobbies were raising five boys, stamp collecting, and reading. He is on the library committee and also Chairman of the Christian Fellowship Committee at Water’s Edge. “I love the Lord” Ellen Harmeling has been a friend since 1989 and invited the Corcoran’s to her Sunday School class. They eventually followed through and started attending the class. They have been blessed so by Ellen’s teaching and appreciate all her research and hard work.
